Two confirmed dead in house fire

Two people have been confirmed killed in this morning's house fire in Midleton, Co Cork.

The blaze broke out in the property in East Ferry at 5.15am.

It is believed the victims were an elderly brother and sister.

Relatives are being notified.

A garda spokesman said investigations are being carried out to establish the cause of the fire but is not believed to be suspicious.

The scene has been sealed off for technical examination.
