Gardaí are continuing to question six people as part of the investigation into the murder of Gerard Staunton in Cork last year.

Gardaí are continuing to question six people as part of the investigation into the murder of Gerard Staunton in Cork last year.

The 41-year-old convicted drug dealer was shot dead in front of his partner and children outside his house in Wilton this day last year.

Five others, arrested by gardaí yesterday, are still being held while another man, who was also detained yesterday, was last night released without charge.
