Superquinn pulls out of Naas

Superquinn is to close its store in Naas, Co Kildare.

The company says the move - which will happen on February 4 - is being made because its lease has expired.

A 30-day consultation period will now commence between the company and its 100 employees, who are being offered the opportunity to redeploy within the company.

The supermarket had hoped to open a store on the Newbridge Road in Naas prior to the expiry of the current lease but because of problems in the property market the development of this site is on hold.
