Climber rescued in Kerry

A man who got into difficulties while climbing the Slieve Mish mountain range in Co Kerry has successfully been rescued.

The man, who was not hurt, was airlifted to Kerry Airport shortly before 4pm this afternoon.

He contacted the emergency services complaining of exhaustion after he set from Curraheen this morning.

Mountain rescue teams are warning hillwalkers that conditions for climbing are extremely dangerous because of the weather.
