Gardaí are appealing for witnesses after a gun attack in the capital earlier today.

A man in his forties was injured in the arm after shots were fired at a car parked in a lay-by on the Naul Road near Dublin Airport.

It happened at about 1pm.

The gunman is about 5 foot 10 or 11 inches tall with an average build.

At the time of the attack, he was wearing a see-through mask over his face and a high-vis jacket.

Investigating officers are appealing for anyone who travelled the stretch of road at the time to contact Swords garda station.
