Dempsey: I will not contest General Election

Minister for Transport Noel Dempsey has today become the latest Fianna Fáil Minister to announce that he is not to stand in the upcoming General Election.

A second senior Government minister is to quit politics at next year's General Election.

Transport Minister Noel Dempsey is to stand down after 33 years as a Fianna Fáil TD.
