The European Commission has this afternoon moved to clarify reports that Ireland will face additional charges for securing loans from the EU and IMF.

It was reported that one segment of the EU-IMF rescue package is carrying a margin of nearly 3%, which would cost Ireland almost €5bn over the lifetime of the loans.
