Calls for cardiac screening of young people

There are calls for more screening of young people to prevent sudden cardiac death.

Around 5,000 people die from the illness every year with around 70 of them being under 35.

Services to remember young victims are taking place in Dublin and Cork later.

Spokesperson for the Sudden Cardiac Death in the Young support group Mary Vasseghi has said early diagnosis is "essential".
