Cherry-picker protester remanded in custody

Anglo protester Joe McNamara, who is charged with criminal damage to the gates of Leinster House, has had his bail revoked.

The builder, with an address at Dún na Carraige, Blackrock, Co Galway, is reported to owe the nationalised lender €3.5m.

He was arrested in September when a cement truck with the words 'Anglo Toxic Bank' was driven up to Kildare Street entrance.

Mr McNamara has been remanded in custody for breach of his bail conditions following an incident this morning involving a cherry picker covered in slogans which was parked at Leinster House, ahead of the Budget.
