Road users warned of icy conditions

Treacherous road conditions are being reported right around the country again this morning following a night of sub-zero conditions.

Treacherous road conditions are being reported right around the country again this morning following a night of sub-zero conditions.

Fresh snowfalls were reported in many parts of Ulster, Connaught, Leinster and East Munster overnight.

Freezing fog and black ice is also causing major problems for motorists and pedestrians this morning.

Snow-clearing teams have worked through the night once again at Dublin Airport. The Airport Authority says the facility is fully operational this morning, although disruption may occur if snow continues.

Intending passengers are advised to consult their own airline's website before leaving home.

Dublin Bus says it is offering a full network this morning, with some curtailments and diversions. Passengers are advised to check Dublinbus.ie for updates

Irish Rail is not anticipating any major disruption to its network. Dublin's Luas service is running a full service, except for the Connolly stop.

The situation could change, however, with another five to ten centimetres of snow forecast today for Leinster and Munster.

Bus Éireann is monitoring the situation and says it will do what it can to run services as normal.
