Govt forecasts 20% reduction in deficit

The Government believes the Budget deficit will be running at 12% next year, down from 32% this year.

In a pre-Budget white paper released this morning, the Department of Finance reveals a deficit of €18.7bn for this year, which is expected to rise to more than €22bn in 2011.
