Motorists warned to drive with care as temperatures plummet
Motorists are once again being urged to drive with extreme care today.
Treacherous conditions are being reported right around the country.
Currently it is almost -10C on the N81 at Baltinglass in Co Wicklow and -9C on the M7 at Newbridge in Kildare.
Air temperatures are even lower with -11C being reported on the N11 Arklow bypass this morning
Treacherous conditions are also being reported in Carlow, Meath, Louth, Wexford, Westmeath and of course Wicklow where the Sally Gap and the Wicklow Gap are both closed.
Heavy snow is also falling in Donegal and conditions around Co Monahgan are also said to be treacherous.
Compacted snow has refrozen in many areas and motorists are being advised to drive with extreme care.
