Met Eireann forecasts heavy snow in Leinster

Met Eireann has forecast heavy snowfalls tonight, tomorrow and tomorrow night in east Leinster.

Accumulations of 5 to 10 centimetres are expected in inland locations, 10 - 20 centimetres in Louth and Dublin and 15 to 25 centimetres in Wicklow.

The exceptionally cold weather will continue throughout the week.

Night-time temperatures will drop as low as minus ten or lower and daytime temperatures will reach a maximum of four degrees.

Freezing fog is also expected.
