Man dies after inhaling fumes in accident at home

A man has died following an accident at his home in Portarlington in Co. Laois.

He was overcome by fumes when cleaning a heating system at a premises between Portarlington and Mountmellick.

The 38-year-old was rushed to the Midland Regional Hospital in Portlaoise where he subsequently died.

Gardaí are describing the incident as a tragic accident.
