Funerals of two sisters in Ballycotton today

The funeral takes place today of the two sisters killed by their father in east Cork last Tuesday.

Zoe and Ella Butler will be laid to rest following funeral Mass of the Angels in Ballycotton.

In a statement, Zoe and Ella's mother Una said she was "struggling to come to terms" with the loss of her two little girls, who were aged just six and two.

Mrs Butler has thanked those who offered support and prayers, and has asked for privacy as her family grieves.

Zoe and Ella will be removed from their home at 2pm this afternoon, and brought to Star of the Sea church in Ballycotton for funeral mass.

Afterwards, they will be laid to rest in Cloyne.

The funeral for their father John will take place in Cobh tomorrow, followed by a private cremation.
