Gogarty denies interest in Dublin mayoral tilt

The Green Party's Education Spokesman Paul Gogarty has indicated that he is not running for the position of Mayor of Dublin.

In a Twitter post the Dublin TD said he wished the media to focus on the issues rather than him as a candidate, claiming he is not running.

He said his focus is on education and on the battle to protect funding.

Last month Mr Gogarty said he was considering running - pledging to make the transition from maverick to mayor.
