Limerick council deploys sandbags in flood preparations

A crisis management team at Limerick City Council has decided to deploy sand bags at vulnerable points along the river quays in the city centre.

The precautionary measure was decided upon in respect of the weather warnings for this weekend by Met Eireann.

The Council said further updates will be issued as and when weather conditions are assessed and information is available on the web or via telephone for anyone with concerns.
