Archbishop Martin: Effects of cutbacks must be monitored
The Archbishop of Dublin has warned that education cutbacks should be monitored for their effects on Ireland's less well-off.
Diarmuid Martin also said that, despite our current difficulties, we shouldn't overlook how much Ireland has achieved in recent years.
He was addressing students at a graduation ceremony at St Patrick's teacher-training college in Dublin this morning.
Archbishop Martin paid tribute to teachers for their contribution to Ireland's recent success, something he said was not always properly recognised.
