A Dublin student who invented a new type of ski boot has won the Irish James Dyson award.

A Dublin student who invented a new type of ski boot has won the Irish James Dyson award.

Brian Byrne, 23, from Dundrum says he was inspired to create the Flip Ski Boot after years of enduring the discomfort of existing ski boot models.

The NCAD student will be presented with a cheque for €2,000 in Tullamore in Co Offaly later.

Winning the James Dyson award will give James international recognition for his product.
