The PSNI has confirmed a device found at Belfast International Airport yesterday was a bomb.

A security operation was launched after airport staff discovered a suspicious vehicle in the long-stay car park.

The PSNI said the vehicle contained a viable device, along with an amount of flammable liquid.

It followed the discovery of a bomb under a railway bridge in Lurgan.

Dissident Republicans are being blamed. Local SDLP councillor Michael McGoldrick said: "Violence in 2010 is not the way ahead. A few people intent on causing mayhem…Nobody wants it."
