A 22-year-old man has been arrested in Dublin in connection with the seizure of a firearm.

A 22-year-old man has been arrested in Dublin in connection with the seizure of a firearm.

The man was detained by gardaí following an operation near Balgaddy in Lucan today.

He is being questioned at Ronanstown garda station under Section 30 Offences Against the State Act.

The weapon has been taken to Garda Headquarters in the Phoenix Park for a technical examination.
