A 27-year-old woman died in Co Kerry, while a 37-year-old motorcyclist was killed in Limerick.

Gardaí at Lixnaw in Co Kerry are investigating a single-vehicle road traffic collision that happened on the Abbeydorney Road at around 3.30am.

A female front seat passenger was pronounced dead at the scene after the car she was travelling in lost control.

It is believed there were six people in the car at the time and four are being treated in hospital.

Meanwhile, a 37-year-old man died when his motorbike was involved in a collision with a car on the N7 Dublin Road at Castletroy at 7pm yesterday evening.

Gardaí at Henry Street are appealing for any witnesses to contact them.
