Cork road blocked in traffic protest
A stand-off between gardaí and protestors on the north side of Cork took place this morning after a road was blocked by local residents calling for measures to calm traffic.
Two young children were knocked down by a truck on Sunvalley Drive in Fairhill earlier this week, sparking anger among the local community.
One of the two eight-year-olds remains in a serious condition in hospital.
The residents want Cork City Council to put traffic calming measures in place, such as speed ramps and traffic lights.
