Father of murdered man criticises 'glamorous' gangland drama

The father of Limerick murder victim Roy Collins has said that he fears a new gangland television drama will be used as a recruitment tool to entice vulnerable young people into a life of crime.

Steve Collins believes RTÉ's "Love/Hate" will wrongly convince young people from dysfunctional families that the illegal drugs trade may lead to fortune and riches.

Roy Collins was shot dead outside an amusement arcade in the Roxboro Shopping Centre in Limerick in April 2009.

His father says glamorising gangland crime will have a negative impact on young people.
