Three charged in dissident republican probe

Detectives in the North investigating dissident republican activities charged three men with firearms offences last night.

The men, aged 22, 22 and 26, each face two charges – possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life and possessing ammunition in suspicious circumstances.

They were arrested with another man when officers stopped their car in Cookstown, Co Tyrone on Monday.

The fourth man, aged 30, remained in police custody last night.

The three accused will appear in Strabane Magistrates Court thismorning.
