Foul play not suspected in drowning deaths

Gardaí say they are not treating as suspicious the deaths of two men in a boating accident off Inishbofin.

The bodies of former Mayo footballer Ger Feeney and businessman Donal McEllin, both from Castlebar, were found yesterday morning.

It is thought the two men got into difficulty while using a dinghy to get back to their motor

cruiser which was anchored off the island.

Both of the victims were wearing lifejackets.

Post mortem examinations are taking place.
