A high tide flood alert is in place in Cork.

The city council is warning home and business owners in low-lying areas to take measures to protect their property.

Kyrls Quay in Cork suffered its worst flooding in almost a year last night. Parts of Lavitt’s Quay and Lapp’s Quay were also affected by rising water levels, but no damage was reported, unlike the millions of euro in destruction caused by last year’s deluge.

High tide will next happen at 7.23pm today.
