McCreevy resigns from UK bank post
Former European Commission Charlie McCreevy has resigned from the board of a British bank after a European ethics committee found it conflicted with his work as a former commissioner.
NBNK is understood to be planning to bid for retail banking assets in the UK, which have had to be sold off following the financial crisis.
Labour MEP Nessa Childers said NBNK was "feeding off the financial crisis" fanned by Mr McCreevy’s "light-touch" approach to financial regulation.
