Irish priests' group seeks Vatican meeting

A newly-formed priests' group is looking to meet with a Vatican delegation when they arrive in Ireland to investigate the Catholic Church here.

The group of officials from Rome is aiming to examine the Church's handling of abuse cases and identify possible improvements in child protection practices.

The Association of Irish Priests has made its written request through the papal nuncio and it is expected to be considered by officials in Rome this week.
