A teenager who is charged with murdering Dublin schoolgirl Michaela Davis is due back in court today.

Nineteen-year-old Jonathan Byrne of Lohunda Downs in Clonsilla is charged with murdering the 12-year-old on August 28.

Michaela's body was found in undergrowth by the Royal Canal near her home in Porterstown on a Saturday hours after her parents reported her missing.

A post mortem found that she had been strangled.

The book of evidence is yet to be served on the accused, who turned 19 this month.
