Three teens have appeared in court in the US charged with bullying Clare schoolgirl Phoebe Prince so relentlessly that she took her own life.

Fifteen-year-old Phoebe Prince's family had recently moved to Massachusetts.

Ashley Longe, Sharon Chanon Velazquez and Flannery Mullins, all 16-year-old girls from South Hadley in Massachusetts, were brought before the juvenile courts yesterday.

They are among a group of six teenagers charged with bullying Phoebe Prince before she took her life last year.

The 15-year-old hanged herself at her home in January of this year.

US Prosecutors are planning to call up to 50 witnesses in the case.

The trials are not expected to go to hearing until January of next year.
