Two charged with murder of Toyosi Shittabey

Two brothers have been charged with the murder of a 15-year-old Nigerian boy in west Dublin last April.

Fifteen-year-old Toyosi Shittabey was stabbed to death in Tyrellstown on Good Friday.

Thirty-eight-year-old Paul Barry from Pearse Street in Dublin had previously been charged with the manslaughter of Toyosi Shittabey.

His brother, 23-year-old Michael Barry from Ringsend, had been charged with possession of a hockey stick.

Today in court, both men had their charges upgraded and both now face charges of murder.

They have been remanded in custody to appear back in court next Tuesday.

A promising footballer, Toyosi Shittabey was attacked and stabbed not far from his home in Tyrellstown on Good Friday.

He was one of six children and had moved here with his family from Nigeria 11 years ago.

His brutal killing last April shocked the west Dublin community where he lived.
