Screening uncovers 137 bowel cancer sufferers

Up to 137 people taking part in a pilot bowel cancer screening programme have tested positive for the disease.

Just over half of the 10,000 men and women from the Tallaght area of Dublin who were offered free bowel screening took part in the programme, which began in 2008.
