Bus Éireann to expand services in Wexford and Waterford

Bus Éireann is to enhance its services in Wexford and Waterford, it has been announced today.

The firm is to expand current route 370 which will see a much increased frequency of services from rural locations in the counties and enhanced direct bus links to Waterford city, Wexford town, New Ross, and regional hospitals and health centres.

The new service will begin operation on Monday, September 20, 2010.

Bus Éireann will further develop and expand its integrated network of services in rural locations in south Wexford to increase the ability of people living in these areas to connect to Waterford, New Ross and Wexford using public transport.

These additional services will be funded by the National Transport Authority.

In addition, customers can also avail of the existing Route 40 coach service that provides 12 departures daily linking Rosslare Europort, Wexford, New Ross and Waterford City Centre.

Bus Éireann is also currently working with Rural Transport Programme providers in the region to examine how new “collect and connect” services in rural areas can feed into the proposed new network.
