Ryan denies Donegal by-election claim

The Minister for Communications Eamon Ryan has played down reports his Cabinet colleagues will choose to hold only one of the three by-elections due in the coming months.

The Minister for Communications Eamon Ryan has played down reports his Cabinet colleagues will choose to hold only one of the three by-elections due in the coming months.

Reports claim Fianna Fáil are planing to hold the Donegal South West by-election in March in order to put an end to a legal challenge by Sinn Féin.

But the Green Party wants the outstanding by-elections in Dublin South and Waterford to be held at the same time.

Mr Ryan has said that position remains unchanged.
