Man dies in Mayo crash

A man was killed today in a road accident in Co Mayo.

The crash occurred between a car and a van at Cuilmore on the main Claremorris to Ballyhaunis road at around 2.30pm.

The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene.

A woman who was also travelling in the car was taken to Mayo General Hospital where her condition is described as stable.

Meanwhile seven teenagers were injured in a separate car crash in the county at about 4.40am.

They were taken to Castlebar General Hospital after the accident on Church Street in Foxford.

Gardaí said their injuries were not life-threatening.
