A motorcyclist has died following a collision with an SUV this morning in Co. Carlow.

A motorcyclist has died following a collision with an SUV this morning in Co. Carlow.

The fatal accident occurred at around 11am on the R705 at Kilcummney.

The 26-year-old male motorcyclist was fatally injured and his body has been taken to Waterford Regional Hospital for a post mortem, Gardaí said.

Diversions are in place at the scene as the road has been closed.

An investigation is underway.
