Gardaí arrest two in Dublin drug seizures
Gardaí have arrested two men and seized a quantity of drugs in an operation targeting the sale and supply of drugs in the Dublin area.
Gardaí stopped a van on Arran Quay in Dublin City centre on Tuesday and seized 200kgs of what is believed to be cannabis resin.
The seizure may be worth in the region of €1.4m.
The driver of the van, a 60-year-old man, was arrested and is detained at The Bridewell Garda Station under section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act.
In a follow-up operation, Gardaí searched a premises at an industrial estate near Rathcoole at 10pm last night.
A further quantity of cannabis, with an estimated street value of €400,000, was recovered.
A 40-year-old man was arrested at the scene and has been detained under Section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act at Clondalkin Garda Station.
