Seanad gives Callely more time to answer new allegations

Ivor Callely has been given a month to answer questions about a new complaint over his failure to declare all his property interests to the Oireachtas.

The Seanad Committee on Members Interests has also granted Senator Calley a further two weeks to respond to allegations about his mobile phone expenses.

Meanwhile, Senator Larry Butler has been asked to attend a public hearing on September 21 - to answer claims about his travel expenses - while complaints against Senators Ann Ormonde and Ronan Mullen have been dismissed.

However Senator Mullen says his reputation has been damaged by the incident.
