Protests against hospital cuts continue in Galway

Efforts to oppose any downgrading of hospital services in the west are to continue today.

The 'Save Our Services' campaign has said it will resist plans by the HSE to cut €24m from the budget of University Hospital Galway.

Today's event is the latest in a series of recent demonstrations.

Last week 10,000 people took to the streets of Ballinasloe to support Portiuncula Hospital while 8,000 people marched in Roscommon against proposed cuts to the hospital there.
