Hunt for rapist after Bangor attack

Detectives were today hunting a man who allegedly raped a woman near the seafront in Bangor, Co Down.

Detectives were today hunting a man who allegedly raped a woman near the seafront in Bangor, Co Down.

The PSNI’s Rape Crime Unit have appealed for information after a report of a serious sexual assault close to a fountain opposite the junction of Gray’s Hill and Southwell Road in the early hours of Friday morning.

The culprit is believed to be aged 19 or 20 years, was 5ft 4ins to 5ft 7ins in height and of medium build with short blonde spiky hair.

He was wearing dark blue denim jeans and a white and blue t-shirt.

Detectives have urged anyone who was in the area at the time and noticed any suspicious activity to contact them.
