Tánaiste and Education Minister Mary Coughlan said today that there are no plans to overhaul the Leaving Certificate system.
A report from the ESRI yesterday found high levels of stress and sleep loss among sixth year students due to the study demands for the exams.
As a result there are renewed calls for a radical reform of the system to alleviate the pressure.
It comes as around 55,000 students await their Leaving Cert results tomorrow morning.
Minister Coughlan described the current system as the most 'transparent and fairest' one available.
