Tánaiste and Education Minister Mary Coughlan has today ruled out the introduction of third level fees in the Budget.

Tánaiste and Education Minister Mary Coughlan has today ruled out the introduction of third level fees in the Budget.

It comes as around 55,000 students await the results of their Leaving Certificate exams, which are due out tomorrow morning.

Mary Coughlan says she is awaiting the final report on the development of third-level education over the next 20 years.

However the Tánaiste says college fees will not be on the agenda during the lifetime of the current Government.
