Transport company closure to cost 39 jobs

At least 39 jobs are being axed in Co Tipperary with the closure of one of the country's largest transport companies.

The Liam Carroll Transport Group called workers to a meeting this morning where it announced that it is to cease trading with immediate effect.

The firm had been operating in Thurles since 1978.
