Thousands to protest cuts at Roscommon Hospital

Thousands are expected to turn out for a rally in support of retaining services at Roscommon County Hospital later this morning.

The protest comes amid a range of proposals in the HSE west region to cut costs given a massive budget shortfall.

Talks between health unions and the HSE concluded late last night at a Labour Relations Commission hearing on proposed cost-saving measures

Both sides are said to have agreed to engage with one another on addressing the deficit whilst protecting jobs and services.
