Aer Lingus staff vote on industrial action

The result of a ballot for industrial action by Aer Lingus cabin crew is expected today.

The issue centres on a controversial €97m cost-saving plan across the airline for cabin crew.

It includes an increase in flight times.

IMPACT trade union says that while staff had agreed to the change, the company has changed overall employment terms.

However, it is believed that if the ballot is passed, there will not be an all-out strike.
