Government to establish official guide to property prices

A definitive and official guide to the state of the property market is to be established, the Government has today announced.

Justice Minister Dermot Ahern confirmed the establishment of a new property database, which will clearly show house prices and market trends and improve transparency in the market, and quickly detect market trends.

Minister Ahern says the Property Services Regulatory Authority, based in Navan, will have statutory responsibility for publishing the data.
