Union meets Arnotts management about takeover

Management of Arnotts Department store in Dublin has been meeting with union representatives to discuss the future of the company.

It follows last week's announcement that Anglo Irish Bank and Ulster Bank are to become the new owners of the firm.

The union Mandate, which has over 900 members at Arnotts, said the meeting was a preliminary one, to discuss a process and a timetable for exploring the issues involved in the immediate and long-term future of the company.
