Students protest highlights graduate 'brain-drain'
The Union of Students in Ireland staged a demonstration this morning to highlight the level of unemployed graduates.
Some 68,000 graduates are currently unemployed, with thousands of them being forced to leave the country to seek work.
Many are travelling to Australia, New Zealand and Canada in search of work.
Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Innovation Batt O’Keeffe urged the USI to get behind Government efforts to protect and create jobs.
"Our policies are helping Ireland to emerge from recession and to avoid another period of protracted recession," said Minister O'Keeffe.
