Traffic is slowly returning to normal following an earlier collision on the Main Ennis to Galway road.

Both lanes of the road just at the end of the Ennis by-pass between Barefield and Crusheen have now re-opened, following the crash which involved up to four vehicles.

Traffic is now beginning to move again though some delays are expected after long tailbacks formed while the road was blocked.

Fire and ambulance personnel remain at the scene and the conditions of those involved in the multi-vehicle crash are not yet known.
